Description | Group of at least 35 sherds which appear to belong to one pot. Rim band is cord marked. Bands of incised lines, plain surface and cord marking on pot body. Some sherds orange exterior and black interior, other sherds completely black. . . . Group of 24 sherds which appear to belong to one pot. Six rim pieces show a scalloped rim, below which is a band (ca. 2.5 cm.) of oblique cord marking. Below this are five parallel scraped lines, followed by an undecorated band (ca. 3.5 cm.), two more scraped lines, and more oblique cord marking. Below the two scraped lines, the body of the pot begins to swell: it was probably rounded. These related sherds were extracted from a bag of sherds collected by Hiller in Hokkaido: the remaining sherds may include more pieces from this pot. |
