Description | Wooden Katsina doll. The face is painted brown and facial features are exaggerated and protruding. Projections are attached to the front, back and sides of the head, originally with feathers coming out from each one. The area above the mouth has brown fur, possibly indicating a beard or facial hair. Black painted pants are worn at the waist. This figure is a type of Mudhead (Koyemsi), a type of Katsina clown.
