Description | Rounded base, effigy jar. Human figure. Face in relief on lower part of neck. Body irregular, with arms across stomach and a hunched back (this may represent an individual who has survived rickets (osteomalacia), reference Dr. Rebecca R. Stone in The Jaguar Within, University of Texas Press, 2011). Upper part of staight neck painted with red and purple horizontal bands. Flange, unpainted rim. Face painted red and purple. Sepia designs on shoulder and arms. Red body, intact. |
