Description | Black flat-brimmed korean archer's hat; constructed of matted horse hair over black felt; brim lined with blue silk brocade; crown unlined, heavily trimmed including: (1) tail of horsehair dyed red attached to crown with brass trim, (2) golden raw silk tassel attached to tail, (3) double purple silk-wrapped cord tied in bow at base of crown, (4) bunched feathers held in brass shaft stitched to crown-peacock and ostrich (dyed blue), (5) carved ivory object attached to right brim, representing vegetable or nut; purple cords attached to each side with hooks. |
